Crews extinguish second alarm fire in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Crews extinguished a second alarm fire in the 1000 block of Queen Street in Portsmouth Monday.

Firefighters were called to the scene at 2:37 p.m. The blaze was out by 4:32 p.m.

The business, an auto repair shop, will be displaced.

No injuries were reported.

Smoke from the fire could be seen from Tower Cam 10 around 2:50 p.m. Monday.

Officials say a gasoline tank may have contributed to the fire spread, but a cause has yet to be determined.
