Tides continue hot streak, start road swing with 7-0 win over Gwinnett

GWINNETT (WAVY) – Christian Walker broke out of his home run slump, while Trey Mancini continued his brilliance with the bat, as the Norfolk Tides took down Gwinnett 7-0 to open up their three-game road series.

Norfolk has now won seven of its last nine games.

Mancini blasted an RBI-double in the first inning to give Norfolk a 1-0 lead, while Walker followed that up with a 2-run shot way out of left field that gave the Tides a 3-0 lead after one.

It didn’t take long for Mancini to get his second hit. He sent a liner up the middle to send home two more runs in the second inning.
