Man walks into Norfolk fire station with gunshot wound

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Detectives are investigating after a man walked into a Norfolk fire station with a gunshot wound Monday afternoon.

Shortly before 1:15 p.m., paramedics reported to dispatchers that a 55-year-old man had walked into Fire Station 8, located at 526 Frederick Street, suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was rushed to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with serious injuries.

Police say the shooting happened in the 400 block of Rockingham Street.

An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
