3 teens charged with stealing gun from parked car in Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Three Hampton teens are facing charges after they allegedly stole a gun from a parked car on May 29.

The teens, 18-year-old Deandre Romell Atkinson and two 17-year-old boys, have each been charged with grand larceny of a firearm.

Atkinson has also been charged with entering a vehicle to commit larceny and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

According to police, officers were called to Peninsula Town Center Parking Garage on May 30.

A 22-year-old man told police he parked his car in the garage on May 29, and found that his gun had been stolen

Atkinson and the two juveniles were caught on surveillance cameras, according to police. An investigation found that the three teens worked together to commit the crime, police say.
