Police: Man shot twice early Saturday morning in Elizabeth City

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) — Police say a man was shot twice early Saturday morning in Elizabeth City.

At 2:14 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, officers were dispatched to a person who had been shot behind the 7-Eleven on Hughes Boulevard.

Police say when officers arrived on scene, they found 31-year-old Christopher Daniel Harrell lying in the parking lot of the Comfort Inn located at 306 S. Hughes Boulevard. There were about 30 to 40 people around him, according to police.

Harrell was taken to Sentara Albemarle Medical Center. Doctors determined he had been shot two times. Harrell was then transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for further treatment. He is currently in stable condition.

Police do not currently have any information about a suspect or suspects involved in the shooting.
