Norfolk man injured in shooting on Tappen Avenue in Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — A Norfolk man was taken to the hospital from a shooting late Saturday night on Tappen Avenue in Hampton.

Police say officers were called to the scene at 10:51 p.m. on Saturday for a shooting in the 200 block of Tappen Avenue.

An investigation revealed that a group of people were approached by unknown suspects in a four-door sedan.

Police say there was a verbal argument between the groups, and that one of the suspects pulled out a gun and fired at the group. A 24-year-old Norfolk man was hit and taken to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The suspects’ car was last seen heading north on Tappan Avenue, turning on to North 2nd Street. The car was being driven by a female, with two male passengers, according to police.
