Driver killed in Norfolk three-vehicle crash ID’d as Pennsylvania woman

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Police in Norfolk have identified the woman killed in a three car crash on Little Creek Road as 18-year-old Tyra Voss, of Pennsylvania.

Norfolk’s Traffic Fatality Team completed its preliminary investigation into the crash, which happened the afternoon of Thursday, June 9.

The driver of a Lexus — now identified as Voss — was turning from the Interstate 564 off-ramp and disregarded a traffic sign, and entered the intersection.

When this happened, police say, she hit a Norfolk public school bus. The bus was then pushed into a Nissan that was heading west on Little Creek at the time.

Responding medics pronounced Voss dead at the scene.

Police say the investigation is ongoing, and that it is unknown if speed, impairment, or distracted driving played a factor in the crash.
