Hampton Police respond to multiple overnight shootings

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Hampton Police responded to three separate shootings overnight from Wednesday evening through the early Thursday morning hours.

A 35-year-old Hampton man was taken to the hospital after officers responded to a shooting around 4 a.m. on Lassiter Drive. Police say the man was walking in the area when a suspect driving a silver or grey car shot him.

He was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Nearly 30 minutes prior to this, officers were called to the scene of a shooting in the 600 block of Teach Street, near Shell Road. Police say a 34-year-old man was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Andre Marquis Monroe, 32, has been identified as a suspect in that shooting.

Around 9:47 p.m. Wednesday, police received reports of a shooting on Marion Drive. A 28-year-old Hampton man was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Police say the three shootings do not appear to be connected.
