Yovani Gallardo gets rehab start in Tides 7-3 win over Durham

NORFOLK (WAVY) — Yovani Gallardo made his second rehab start since being placed on the Orioles disabled list and helped lead the Tides to a 7-3 win over Durham on Tuesday afternoon at Harbor Park.

The 30-year-old right-hander picked up the win after allowing three runs on four hits over five innings. He walked two and struck out five, throwing 49 of his 85 pitches for strikes.

Mike Yastrzemski finished a triple short of hitting for the cycle. He doubled home a run in the first frame, then belted a three-run homer in the second inning that gave the Tides an early 6-0 advantage. He later singled in the seventh inning, giving him his second three-hit performance at the Triple-A level.

In 21 games since joining Norfolk on May 16, Yastrzemski has now registered 14 extra-base hits, batting .309 with three home runs, nine doubles and 12 runs batted in.

Norfolk hits the road for a seven-game road trip.
