Woman accused of stabbing victim with box cutter in Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A Newport News woman is begin accused of stabbing another woman with a box cutter due to an argument over an alleged social media post.

Raven Bunch, 23, has been charged with malicious wounding for the alleged incident, which police say happened on June 3.

Officers were called to a home on Madison Avenue that afternoon for a reported stabbing, and found a 23-year-old woman bleeding from knife-type wounds.

Medics took the woman to the hospital with what were originally thought to be serious injuries. Police say the wounds were later listed as non life-threatening.

According to police, an investigation revealed that the victim was in her car when Bunch jumped in to the passenger seat and stabbed her with a box cutter.

Warrants for Bunch’s arrest were served on June 5.
