HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) — U.S. Senators Mark Warner (D-Va.) and Tim Kaine (D-Va.) have announced more than $730,000 in relief funding that will go toward veterans’ homelessness.

Warner and Kaine announced Friday that the U.S. Departments of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Veterans Affairs (VA) are awarding $736,000 to local VA medical centers.

More than $410,000 of that funding is going to the Hampton VA Medical Center and Norfolk-VA Beach Community-Based Outpatient Clinic.

“We owe our veterans the best-quality care and support in their communities and we are pleased to see governments at all levels working together to address it,” the Senators stated Friday.

The funding is being awarded with the goal of helping homeless veterans find affordable housing.
