NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk City Councilman Paul Riddick has called for an FBI investigation into all Norfolk officer-involved shootings dating back to 2013.

Riddick called for the investigation following a deadly officer-involved shooting on June 2, 2016. The councilman believes the U.S. Justice Department and the FBI need to get involved.

Riddick issued a statement to 10 On Your Side about his decision:

I feel that Norfolk hasn’t had the proper investigations done into police involved shootings and police involved shootings that resulted in deaths. We need a larger set of eyes to see what we’re doing wrong.”

Riddick held a news conference Friday afternoon.

10 On Your Side’s Joe Fisher attended  the new conference, and will have full coverage tonight starting at 4 p.m.
