Woman stabbed at the Newport News Inn

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – A woman was stabbed in her hotel room in Newport News Sunday afternoon.

Police got the call just before 2:30 p.m. to respond to the Newport News Inn in the 12000 block of Jefferson Avenue.

When officers arrived, they located the 22-year-old victim, who had stab wounds to her hand, shoulder and abdomen. She told police she met a man at the train station the night before and they exchanged numbers. The man contacted her the next day and they agreed to meet in the victim’s hotel room. Before he left, she says the man pulled out a knife and demanded money from her and cut her multiple times.

The victim was taken to the hospital. She is expected to recover from her injuries.
