HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Travelers planning their ultimate summer getaway now have a way of avoiding long lines at Transportation Security Administration checkpoints at their local airports.

You can now apply for the TSA’s “pre-check” expedited clearance at shopping centers.

All you need to do is fill out the application on the TSA’s website, and then take it to an enrollment center — along with your birth certificate or a passport.

Hampton Roads has four locations where travelers can enroll:

  • Norfolk: 895 Poplar Hall Drive
  • Portsmouth: Victory Crossing Shopping Center
  • Hampton: 2021B Cunningham Drive
  • Virginia Beach: 232 Business Park Drive

Only United States citizens or permanent residents are eligible to qualify for pre-check.
