Missing man with dementia found by State Police

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A 79-year-old man with dementia who was reported missing Wednesday was found by State Police Thursday morning.

allisonNorfolk Police spent the overnight hours looking for Benjamin Allison.

Police told WAVY.com Allison was last seen Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Consulate Health Care Center on Llewellyn Avenue. Troopers located him around 5:20 a.m. on the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel, which is nearly 14 miles from the center. There’s no word yet how he got there.

Detectives said he was last seen wearing a green shirt, either grey sweat pants or possibly tan pants, a camouflage jacket and tan shoes.

According to police, Allison suffers from dementia and was considered a fall risk.
