Man arrested, charged for armed robbery outside of Hooters in Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Hampton Police have arrested and charged a man in connection with an armed robbery that took place outside of a Hooters restaurant over the weekend.

Wayne Anthony McAllister is facing charges including robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon for the incident, which took place late Saturday, May 21.

According to police, McAllister approached a man in the parking lot outside of a Hooters on West Mercury Boulevard. He was reportedly armed with a handgun and demanded money from the man.

The man complied, handing over an undisclosed amount of money. McAllister then left the scene in a black Ford Mustang.

Police say officers flooded the area, spotted the car and took McAllister into custody.

McAllister is being held at Hampton City Jail.
