Man killed after being hit by train in Williamsburg

Officials have ruled the man's death as accidental.

WILLIAMSBURG, VA. (WAVY) — A man was killed after being hit by a train in Williamsburg early Friday morning.

Eric Stone, of the Williamsburg Fire Department, says a CSX train hit the 25-year-old on the tracks in the 700 block of Lafayette Street.

The man has been identified as Kenneth Gene Graham III, of Shady Spring, West Virginia.

CSX contacted law enforcement about the accident around 3:10 Friday morning. Officers arrived a few minutes later to find the 25-year-old’s body lying near the tracks.

Officials have now ruled the man’s death as accidental.

The man was reportedly attempting to cross the tracks on his way back to a hotel Friday morning. The 25-year-old is a contractor from West Virginia, according to officials.

Investigators were on the scene interviewing witnesses for several hours Friday morning. The CSX train remained stopped on the tracks near Lafayette Street while police investigated the accident.
