Real estate agent robbed at gunpoint; suspect in custody

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Virginia Beach Police have arrested a man who was wanted for robbing a real estate agent at gunpoint Wednesday.

James Anthony Weil Jr., 44, was charged with abduction, robbery and two counts of use of a firearm in connection with Wednesday’s incident.

Police say that around 11:35 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, dispatch received a report from a caller stating that she had just been robbed at gunpoint in the 5600 block of Odessa Drive.

The victim, a real estate agent, reported that she was contacted by a man who was interested in seeing a house that was on the market. When the man showed up, police say he robbed the real estate agent at gunpoint.

The suspect then went to the 2300 block of Virginia Beach Boulevard and used one of the victim’s stolen credit cards.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
