Suspect robs Newport News Waffle House at gunpoint

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened at the Waffle House in the 600 block of Denbigh Boulevard Tuesday evening.

According to police, the suspect came into the restaurant around 10:49 p.m. He then pulled out a gun and demanded money from the employees. The suspect then robbed a person dining at the restaurant, before fleeing the scene.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect is a black male wearing jeans, gloves and a dark-colored top. His face was covered at the time of the robbery.
