Navy sailor indicted in identity theft case pleads not guilty

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A Navy sailor facing charges of bank fraud and identity theft has pleaded not guilty.

Clayton Pressley III appeared in court Wednesday morning, and also requested a jury trial.

Unsealed documents from the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia show that Pressley started obtaining loans using other sailors’ personal information as far back as July 2015.

Pressley refused to comment coming out of the courtroom on Wednesday.

His trial has been slated to begin July 19.
