Anderson Cooper donates Jeopardy winnings, $40K check to Spike’s K9

WAVY News 10

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A local non-profit is getting $50,000, thanks to Anderson Cooper.

Cooper appeared on Jeopardy Tuesday night, and walked away with $10,000.

Cooper is donating those winnings, along with a check for $40,000 to Spike’s K9 Fund in Virginia Beach. Members of Spike’s were in attendance to watch Cooper compete Tuesday night.

The CNN anchor has been supporting Spike’s effort to protect police service dogs since the death K9 Krijger in January.

Donations from Cooper helped provide new ballistic vests to K9’s in police departments across Hampton Roads.
