Three people rescued from the water in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Emergency crews rescued three people from the water near 57th Street and Atlantic Avenue on Tuesday afternoon.

Dispatch confirmed that the emergency call came in at 2:50 p.m. 911 was called about three swimmers in distress. The Virginia Beach Fire Department arrived on the scene for the rescue. All three were pulled from the water.

Only one person was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

The Coast Guard was not called for this incident.
