Suspect in murder of Grassfield High student makes court appearance

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A judge denied bond for a murder suspect, Andarion Lorenzo McInnis, in a Virginia Beach courtroom on Wednesday.

Officers in Virginia Beach took McInnis into custody Tuesday in connection with a deadly shooting outside an Applebee’s earlier this month.

weapons charge.

On May 1, officers responded to calls of a gunshot victim in the parking lot of an Applebee’s restaurant on General Booth Boulevard.

Bryant Austin Cueto, 18, was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, and was later pronounced dead. According to his obituary, Cueto went to Grassfield High School in Chesapeake.

Officers arrested a juvenile in connection with the shooting a few days later. The juvenile is facing charges including murder, robbery and use of a firearm.He’s being held at the Virginia Beach Juvenile Detention Center, according to police.

McInnis will be back in court for his preliminary hearing June 17.
