HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Hampton Police are investigating a shooting that sent one man to the hospital Monday evening.
Officers responded to a shooting complaint in the 200 block of Chapel Street, just off of Armistead Avenue, around 7:50 p.m.
Police say officers found a 28-year-old man suffering from a single gunshot wound in the 400 block of Chapel.
The victim was taken to a local hospital with a non life-threatening injury. According to police, the man was shot after he became involved in a verbal altercation with two suspects.
The suspects had fled the scene before officers arrived.
Police dispatchers tell WAVY.com that this shooting is not related to the triple shooting on Golden Gate Drive, which resulted in the death of a 20-year-old man.
