Domestic situation turns into drug bust in Dare County

DARE COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) – Deputies responded to a domestic situation that turned into a drug bust in Kill Devil Hills on Saturday.

According to the Dare County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived at the 7-Eleven for the aid call, but discovered no domestic situation had occurred. The investigation then changed gears after they said the suspect smelled of marijuana.

Deputies searched the man and found marijuana on the suspect and inside his vehicle.

Deputies arrested 54-year-old Timothy Martin Barr of Pennasauken, New Jersey and charged him with felony possession with the intent to sell/deliver marijuana.

Barr was released on a $5,000 secured bond.
