Coast Guard rescues three people from submerged vessel

KNOTTS ISLAND, N.C. (WAVY) – The Coast Guard Sector North Carolina responded to a partially submerged vessel off Tulls Bay near MacKay Island early Sunday afternoon.

Emergency dispatchers received the distress call around 12:30 p.m. about the 52-foot pleasure craft Cheryl Lynn taking on water in the Currituck Sound. The Coast Guard said the boat is in about four feet of water in the North Landing River; they are working to create a salvage plan to get the vessel out of the water.
