Report ranks top Virginia high schools

VIRGINIA (WAVY) – U.S. News is out with its list of the top performing public high schools in the country. There are 30,000 public high schools on the list; Virginia boasts 113 schools and North Carolina 153.

The schools that top the rankings stand out for academic outcomes, graduation rates and the opportunity to take Advanced Placement coursework.

Several Hampton Roads area schools are represented.
