Damaged power line leaves hundreds without power in Va. Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Hundreds of customers in Virginia Beach were without power due to a damaged power line, according to Virginia Dominion Power.

A total of 999 customers were without power in areas around S. Plaza Trail, S. Rosemont Road and S. Independence Boulevard Tuesday morning.

A 10 On Your Side viewer called and reported she was stuck in her lift chair during the outage.

The outages were also due in part to Dominion crews working on an equipment upgrade in the South Rosemont area, according to Dominion’s outage map.

This left more than 200 customers without power for a short time Tuesday.
