Hanover firefighters rescue dog stuck in underground pipe

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Dozens on social media are reaching out to congratulate fire officials in Hanover County for rescuing a dog from a pipe over the weekend.

According to a post on the Hanover Fire and EMS Facebook page, units were called to the scene of a dog trapped in a culvert pipe.

Animal Control officers in the county also responded and reported the dog had been stuck in the pipe for several hours.

Firefighters were able to assist by cutting the pipe and the dog, which was not injured, was able to run out on it’s own.

As of 11 p.m. Monday, the post had garnered over 400 likes and been shared 65 times on Facebook.
