OREGON INLET, N.C. (WAVY) — The U.S. Coast Guard rescued two people from a boat that was taking on water Monday morning, 10 miles away from the Oregon Inlet.
Two people aboard the Miss Karen II hit a submerged object, and began taking on water. A Motor Life Boat dispatched from Station Oregon Inlet around 9:17 a.m.
The Coast Guard crew helped dewater the boat, patch-up the hole and escorted them to Wanchese Harbor. The Miss Karen II arrived at the harbor around noon on Monday.
No injuries were reported during the rescue.
