HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Minor injuries have been reported in a car crash on Interstate 64 east at the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel.

The crash caused a temporary closure of the eastbound side of the HRBT. Traffic has been reopened, but VDOT tweeted that a 3-mile back-up remained up to LaSalle Avenue.

If you need to travel southside from the peninsula, use Interstate 664 and the Monitor Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel instead.

Hampton Fire crews responded to the scene, and cautioned motorists to expect delays on the eastbound side. Pictures tweeted from the scene show a red pickup truck flipped over, and multiple units at the entrance of the tunnel.

Images from VDOT’s cameras showed motorists stopped on the eastbound side of I-64.
