Detectives investigating two reports of shots fired in one Franklin neighborhood

FRANKLIN, Va. (WAVY) — Franklin Police are investigating two incidences of shots being fired in one neighborhood this week.

The two incidences took place in the 100 block of Langston Court Tuesday and Thursday.

On Tuesday, April 19, police say a city employee saw two people arguing, when one of the subjects pulled out a gun and began firing. That suspect fled when police arrived.

He was last seen running west on South Street toward Wilson Street.

Police say the officers tried to talk to witnesses in the area, but that they were uncooperative.

On Thursday, police say officers responded to Langston Court for reports of gunshots. They recovered several bullet casings from a .40-caliber pistol and a 7.62mm rifle.

No one was reportedly injured in Thursday’s incident, and police say officers found no evidence of property damage.

Anyone with information on these incidences is encouraged to call Franklin Police at 757-562-8575 or Franklin Crime Solvers at 757-562-8599.
