Suspect sets fire to home in Newport News while occupants slept

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – The Fire Marshall’s Office and police need help in locating an arson suspect.

According to police, the suspect set fire to a home in the 60 block of Bonita Drive on November 8. Firefighters arrived on the scene around 3:20 a.m. and put out the fire, but the home suffered major damage.

The two people who live at the home were asleep inside at the time. Both were able to make it out without injury.

At this time there are no leads or suspect information.
