Suspects arrested in felony credit card fraud case

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Police have arrested three suspects in a credit card theft and are attempting to locate the owners of the stolen credit cards.

Police say that on Sunday, April 10 dispatchers were called to the Ruth’s Chris Restaurant in the 200 block of Central Park Avenue. Employees told police that the three suspects attempted to use a stolen credit card to pay their bill. The owner called police after she was notified by the credit company of the attempted fraudulent purchase.

Officers responded to the scene and were able to arrest the suspects as they were leaving the restaurant. Officers were also able to locate other stolen credit cards that the suspects attempted to throw away.

Police executed a search warrant on the suspects’ hotel room, and found seized property that was purchased in Virginia Beach and Norfolk with stolen credit cards. The total value of the items is over $20,000.

An investigation revealed, that the suspects arrived in Virginia Beach from New York a week prior to the crimes.

The three suspects arrested are; 25-year-old Dwayne Robert Session, 26-year-old Andre Randall and 25-year-old Roget Kalid Smith. Charges include; felony credit card theft, possession of credit card forgery, attempt to commit credit card fraud and credit card theft.

Police are attempting to locate the owners of the other stolen credit cards and other purchases made by the suspects. Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the Economic Crime Unit at 757-385-4101 or Crime Solves at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
