Gov. McAuliffe unveils renovated Spirit of Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Gov. McAuliffe was at Town Point Park Tuesday to unveil the $1.2 million renovation to the Spirit of Norfolk.

Renovations included; all-new contemporary decor, added lounge areas and new entertainment offerings. The renovations follow a cruising season in 2015 that saw a 7 percent increase in passengers.

Cruising throughout the year from Town Point, the ship offers lunch, dinner, moonlight and holiday cruises. Also many themed cruises to celebrate the unique character of the community. Cocktail, Mother’s Day and Wine Down Wednesday cruises are part of the schedule in May and beyond.

Owned by Entertainment cruises, the Spirit of Norfolk was the first ship in the company’s fleet, beginning operations in 1978.
