18-year-old Karlton L. Boone, Jr.

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Detectives tracked down the man suspected in a Suffolk cemetery homicide. U.S. Marshals captured and arrested Karlton Boone, Jr. in Atlanta Thursday morning.

Boone, also known as “Lil Jodi”, has been wanted since March 4, when Suffolk Police identified him as a murder suspect.

42-year-old Wayne Watford’s body was discovered in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in the early morning hours of March 1. Warrants were issued for Boone for first degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, shoot stab cut or wound, and possession of a firearm by a convicted violent felon.

After a month-long investigation, U.S. Marshals in Norfolk got information that Boone had fled Hampton Roads and was in Atlanta and they contacted the Task Force there, which took him into custody.

Boone will be held at the Fulton County Jail awaiting his return to Virginia.
