Hampton approves capital improvement projects

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – The city’s planning commission approved a 5-year $208 million capital improvement plan.

Parts of the plan include; $37 million to educational projects, $28 million to stormwater and waterways, about $12 million for planning and economic development and $15 million for a new Wythe fire station and 911 center.

The planning commission also voted yes on rezoning land on Greenbriar Avenue to allow the building of three new homes and a rezoning request to build luxury apartments in Hampton Roads Center north.

All plans will now go to Hampton City Council for approval.
