Vehicle stop leads to drug arrests on Hatteras Island

DARE COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) – Two men have been arrested in connection with a drug bust following a traffic stop on Hatteras Island on Friday.

Deputies stopped a vehicle after noticing it had expired registration. During the stop, a Nags Head Officer and his K-9 arrived to assist. The K-9 detected drugs in the vehicle and a search was conducted.

The search revealed an undisclosed amount of marijuana, oxycodone, digital scales and an undisclosed amount of cash.

27-year Antonio Devon Moore and 28-year-old Carlton Lynn Morris were taken into custody. Both are being charged with felony possession with the intent to sell/deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, misdemeanor possession of a scheduled II controlled substance (oxycodone) and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Morris was also charged for expired registration.

Both were released on $6,000 bond.
