PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – The high school basketball season recently wrapped up and two of our schools took home the title.
The ladies at Princess Anne High School defeated Highland Springs for the 5A state title and in the process, the cavaliers won their 3rd straight championship and 7th overall for the program.
Godiva Hubbard scored 29 points in the championship game. Congrats to head coach Darnell Dozier and the Cavaliers.
Meanwhile, Norcom wins the 3A state championship on a last second shot in overtime by senior Travis Fields. The Greyhounds defeated Hopewell 67-65 for their 3rd straight state championship.
Norcom has now won 5 state championships in the last 7 years. Congrats to head coach Leon Goolsby and his team.
