Man rescued from Virginia Beach high-rise

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – A man having a medical emergency had to be rescued from a Virginia Beach high-rise building Tuesday afternoon.

According to fire department officials, the man was working on the fifth floor of a hotel under construction at 27th Street and Atlantic Avenue when the emergency happened.

The Technical Rescue Team and Ladder 8 brought the man down safely. He was conscious and alert when he was transported to Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital for treatment.
