Trader Joe’s recalls pistachios over salmonella concerns

COMPTON, Cali. (WAVY) — Trader Joe’s is recalling a few varieties of pistachio products from its stores over concerns regarding salmonella.

The store has been alerted by their supplier of In-Shell, Roasted Pistachios that the following products with “BEST IF USED BY” dates between Oct 2., 2016 and Nov. 6, 2016 may be contaminated with Salmonella:

  • Trader Joe’s Dry Roasted & Unsalted Pistachios (UPC 0007 9990)
  • Trader Joe’s Dry Roasted & Salted Pistachios (UPC 0007 9983)
  • Trader Joe’s 50% Less Salt Roasted & Salted Pistachios (UPC 0011 1348)

The products were distributed to Trader Joe’s stores nationwide.

All lots of these products have been removed from store shelves and their sale has been suspended while the issue is investigated. No illnesses have been reported to date.

If you have purchased any of these In-Shell, Roasted Pistachios, please do not eat them. The company urges you to discard the product or return it to any Trader Joe’s location for a full refund.
