Newport News man pleads guilty to heroin possession, distribution charge

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A Newport News man is awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to conspiracy charges of heroin possession and distribution charges this week.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice Eastern District of Virginia, Roosevelt Fox, 54, admitted to participating in a conspiracy that involved the distribution of between 1 to 3 kilograms of heroin.

Fox, also known as Unc, supplied heroin to someone on Aug. 27, 2015. That person later overdosed and suffered a serious bodily injury, but survived.

Fox was indicted by a grand jury on Feb. 10, and faces 10 years to life in prison for the charge.

A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for June 17.
