HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — The Hampton Police Division and EMS crews took part in a plane crash test scenario Thursday on the Campus of Thomas Nelson Community College.
Police tweeted about the test scenario Thursday morning. Residents near the campus were being advised that they could hear loud explosions from the exercise.
Hampton Police and emergency crews conducted the training in conjunction with the U.S. Military and officials from Joint Base Langley-Eustis (JBLE).
Officials say the exercise was being conducted to prepare emergency responders for an off-base aircraft crash.
JBLE officials tell WAVY.com the training is expected to last until 2 p.m.
