Saving for College

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) –  If you are the parent or grandparent of a younger student, then you may want to start planning for college with a Virginia 529 College Savings Plan. Scott Ridgely, Virginia 529 Director of Marketing and Communications, was in The Hampton Roads Show studio to explain how it works. Ridgely said that in 10 years, the cost to receive a bachelor’s degree will be $150,000. With a Virginia 529 College Savings Plan, parents can save money free of tax.
