NNPD looking for suspects in homicide investigation

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — Detectives in Newport News are investigating a cold case homicide stemming from a Jan. 20, 2013 incident.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of North Maple Court in reference to reports of a shooting that night.

Responding officers found a man lying on his stomach at the front door of a home on North Maple.

The man — now identified as Ajene Tylik Marrow — was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead later that night.

Police say witnesses reported seeing a gold-colored Nissan with a loud muffler drive past that home on North Maple — then back up as Marrow was getting out of his car.

Two men then approached Marrow, at which point a fight begin and one gunshot was heard. The men reportedly left the scene and Marrow collapsed on the front porch.
