Man injured in accident as vehicle strikes building in Suffolk

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Emergency crews responded to a single vehicle accident in the 5500 block of Bennetts Pasture Road Tuesday night.

Upon preliminary investigation by police, it was found that the vehicle left the roadway, clipped a power pole, struck a Verizon box and came to rest against the Bradshaw Building.

The car did not enter the building nor did the building sustain any structural damage.

The man was the only person in the vehicle, and was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Dominion Virginia Power also responded to the scene due to damage to the power pole.

The accident investigation remains ongoing at this time and charges are pending.
