HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – Bethel High School sent students home early Tuesday because of a bomb threat.
Hampton City Schools tweeted just after 2 p.m. that students who drive or walk were being dismissed immediately and bus riders would be dismissed around 2:30 p.m., as buses arrived at the school.
As a safety precaution, we are evacuating the school. BHS Students who drive or walk will be dismissed immediately.

The school was closed to the public and Bethel High School and Phenix Pk-8 School pickups were taken to First Friends Church on Big Bethel Rd.
The threat was received Tuesday and the school called in Hampton Fire and Police officials to search the building. At 3:19 p.m., Hampton Fire tweeted that nothing was found in the search and that the scene was clearing.
