Several small fires put out at Portsmouth auto parts store

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Chesapeake firefighters put out several small fires at an auto parts store in Portsmouth after they drove by and saw heavy smoke coming out of the business.

Portsmouth firefighters also responded to the 2800 block of Airline Boulevard just after 9 a.m. Saturday, according to emergency dispatchers.

A spokesman for the Chesapeake Fire Dept. said although people were working inside the store, no one was injured.

Firefighters were able to immediately get the small fires under control.

Investigators are still working to determine what caused the fires.
