Police investigating attempted home burglary in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Police in Chesapeake are investigating an attempted home burglary on Edgewood Arch.

Police say officers were called to the home in the 600 block of Edgewood Arch just before noon Wednesday.

Kelly O’Sullivan with Chesapeake police said officers were not able to locate a suspect and the area was cleared around 1:30 p.m.

O’Sullivan said the area and people are not considered to be in danger.

Great Bridge Middle School was briefly on lockdown during the incident, according to officials with the school. However, police and officials with Chesapeake Public Schools say there was no lockdown.
