1 suspect arrested in triple shooting, 3 suspects remain at large

Raykwuan Short

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — A Portsmouth murder suspect is now in custody.

Police say RayQwuan Short turned himself in overnight.

Short is charged in the shooting death of Jayzavia Hill. The 17-year-old was killed last May on Deep Creek Boulevard. Two other people survived the triple shooting.

Last September, five men — Roderick B. Britt, Andre T. Keel, RayQwuan A. Short, Jalon M. Trotter and Samking N. Beale — were arrested on charges related to the shooting. However, charges in the case were originally withdrawn but the suspects were recently indicted on first degree murder charges.

Beale turned himself in last week and is in custody for the deadly shooting. He is facing five charges including first-degree murder, felony murder and malicious wounding.

Police are still looking for Keel, Trotter and Britt.
